Authorities say they will do anything to eliminate coronavirus from the capital as the UAE announces 704 new recoveries, 388 new cases and three deaths
Everyone in Abu Dhabi will be tested for Covid-19 if that is what it takes to eliminate the virus, a top health official said on Thursday.
Dr Jamal Al Kaabi, acting undersecretary for Abu Dhabi’s Department of Health, told The National medics would work their way through densely populated areas of the emirate to offer free testing.
The UAE on Thursday announced 388 new coronavirus cases on Thursday with 704 further recoveries and three deaths.
Meanwhile, China responded to a new coronavirus outbreak in Beijing by cancelling more than 60 per cent of its flights to and from the capital city. It also cancelled classes for schoolchildren and strengthened requirements for social distancing, in a sharp retreat for the nation that declared victory over Covid-19 in March.
Globally, coronavirus cases were above 8.3 million on Wednesday, with more than 4 million recoveries and 447,581 deaths.
