A Group of militants attacked a police station with suicide belts and killed at least an officer in southeastern Iran, according to local media outlets on Saturday.

A Police officer was killed when an armed group attacked a police station in Zahedan, a city in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchistan province, around 500 Km southeast of the capital city of Tehran.

According to the report, the militants had suicide belts, and two had detonated, but it did not go into further details.

The report also said the clashes were going on when publishing the report.

Earlier, a senior police officer was killed by the militants in the Sistan and Baluchistan province of Iran.

The Sistan-Baluchistan province, which borders Pakistan, has had multiple security force attacks in recent years, most of which have been attributed to regional militant organizations.

In April, two police officers were killed in an ambush in Gulshan County of the province while on patrol.

Last month, two police officers were killed in an ambush in Gulshan County of the province while on patrol.
