Race 1 3YO MAIDEN HCP (1600m)

We start with the maidens over a mile on a track that will likely just edge back into soft range with some rain forecast. 6. Kingston Charm has done her best work late from well back in two runs this prep against deeper opposition, and she’s well served getting to this trip now and staying on the limit weight. Will park midfield from the inside draw and only needs a clear run from the 400m.
Dangers: Improving 1. Dancemania is a clear threat peaking at his third start having missed by a long head at the provincials 12 days ago. 4. Rabairneach is the other main market contender, hard fit with blinkers going on for the first time. Gap to the rest.
How to play it: Kingston Charm to win; Odds and Evens: Split

Race 2 MAIDEN PLATE (1350m)

8. Double Scoop from the John Thompson stable at Randwick hasn’t been far away in two improving metro runs, and any extra ground is a plus being by group 1 mile winner Press Statement.
Dangers: Watch the betting closely on UK-bred four-year-old 1. Burns To Embrace resuming for a strong metro stable offtwo progressive trials. Astern filly 9. Night To Remember can make an impact on debut off two forward trials. Include 4. Lord Bob and 7. Diva Carolina in exotic bets.
How to play it: Double Scoop to win and quinella 1 and 8; Odds and Evens: Split

Race 3 2YO FILLIES MAIDEN HCP (1000m)

Well-bred Godolphin girl 12. Shaken returns with a bang five months after a debut failure on the Kensington track where the jockey reported she overraced badly and failed to settle. Has trialled big winning twice in tidy time and draws to get cover.
Dangers: Major watch on 10. Rockabilly Rebel also reloading for the Bjorn Baker yard off a debut failure in January. Won the second of two recent city trials convincingly. Astern filly 7. Infinite Rose starts her career off two strong trials for the John O’Shea yard. Similarly, 8. Love And Light draws wider on debut but has won both lead-up trials for the Waterhouse-Bott camp in dominant fashion. Topweight 2. Manhattan Baby resuming off a nice trial can add value into wider exotics at big odds.
How to play it: Shaken to win; Odds and Evens: Evens

Race 4 MIDWAY MAIDEN PLATE (1100m

3. Exsensible resumes and was right around the money in handy company through his first prep. Tuned up for this with two trials, winning the latest over 900m. Will roll forward from a low barrier.
Dangers: Consistent 6. Soobooco is the logical threat also first up off a smart trial win here. Beat all bar the winner in two provincial runs last prep, both times hard in the market, and again comes to hand quickly over this trip. 4. Parmenio is knocking on the door after four improving runs back. 8. Young Rebel resuming as a gelding for only his second start, and 9. Amberina third up are capable of running in the placings.
How to play it: Exsensible to win; Odds and Evens: Split

Race 5 CLASS 1 & MAIDEN PLATE (2100m)

2. Fleet Commander can go back to back third up at good odds. Improved sharply sweeping home to win a provincial maiden 12 days ago, with something in hand, and is ultimately bred to get over a longer trip.
Dangers: 1. Benaud is the clear threat and likely to jump a hot favourite. Has been mixing it in far deeper staying races than this, including two gallant efforts in group 3 company back in March, and tackles this off a plain effort in the listed McKell Cup at Rosehill 17 days ago. Must respect European-bred 5. Sky Out back in distance second up for a leading stable after sticking on strong to only miss by a long neck in a much tougher metro BM 78.
How to play it: Fleet Commander to win and box trifecta 1,2,5; Odds and Evens: Split

Race 6 PROVINCIAL CLASS 1 HCP (1600m)

2. Always In is drawn to get cover around midfield. Has continually found the line well from off speed this campaign, including a strong closing effort at Newcastle just 10 days ago. The step up an extra furlong here is ideal timing.
Dangers: Dominant last-start maiden winner 1. Queen Astrid is also suited by the extra ground. 4. Oakfield Redgum worked home OK third up in that same race as the top selection. 3. Monte Outlander and 5. Thinking Rain go in exotics.
How to play it: Always In to win; Odds and Evens: Split

Race 7 BENCHMARK 64 HCP (1100m)

Keen to back smart Capitalist three-year-old 3. Captain Bond first up for six months. Building a handy short-course record and was dominant when fresh last time, sweeping home to beat a strong maiden field at Gosford. Looked right up to the mark winning a recent city trial.
Dangers: 4. Orlabent has toyed with his rivals last two outings, but this is a decent step up in grade from a tricky draw. Resuming 5. Silvanito is also right in the mix for Godolphin off two improving trials. 6. Zanzibar Gem found the line first up in deeper metro company. 8. Mr Kennedy off a dominant front-running maiden win here and 9. Shezanalister can both add value into trifecta and first four bets.
How to play it: Captain Bond to win; Odds and Evens: Split

Race 8 CLASS 1 HCP (1350m)

5. Principessa can bring punters home with a wet sail. Charged home from a mile back to beat all bar the winner in three stronger provincial and city line-ups before just didn’t get the right toe into the finish when running home late on the Kensington track. Will again settle back from a wide gate, and as long as she finds some cover, can produce another powerful finish, especially if the track is chopped up and the pattern is wider.
Dangers: 1. Lease is well placed dropping back from a stronger metro race. 7. Skylight Song hit the line late here 19 days ago and is over the odds from a friendlier draw. 8. Invictus Lad has run home hard just behind the place-getters in three runs this prep. 9. Angara is the best of the rest.
How to play it: Principessa to win; Odds and Evens: Odds

BEST BETS: Race 1 (6) KINGSTON CHARM; Race 6 (2) ALWAYS IN
BEST VALUE: Race 7 (3) CAPTAIN BOND
