Gavin Sheets had his 4 of his 11 hits for the White Sox, who also had his 8 walks, but he lost 10–0 after four innings.
Trey Mancini sent Jolito's pitch just over the right field fence in his second to score first. The Astros added three more in the third, including a two-run double by Bregman and an RBI single by Tucker. His day for Jolito ended without him recording an out in the fourth inning when he allowed an infield RBI single to McCormick. With Vince Velázquez on the mound, Jose Altuve (2 hits) hit a run-scoring single, Yuli Gurriel (3-5) his RBI groundout, and Jordan Alvarez hit his RBI double.
Alvarez came home with Bregman's drive into the left field seat to hold off Houston's breakout to fourth. After Moncada's three-run homer made it 10–3 in the fifth, Bregman hit his 18th home run the next inning.
It's the eighth time Chicago has allowed him a 10-plus run at home this season, but 2022 won't do it.
