TORONTO — Richie Laryea wasted little time to restart his career with Toronto FC.

Laria, who arrived late Thursday after a seven-hour flight from England, flew to Nashville after training in Toronto on Friday. On Saturday, he played his 64th minute in his TFC comeback on loan from Nottingham, England. This is his first starting lineup for the MLS club since he lost 1-0 to CF He Montreal in the Canadian Championship final last November.

"It's been a bit of a hectic 72 hours for him, but that doesn't trade it," said Laria after Toronto's 4-3 blowout victory over Nashville SC. "Good."

Like if he never left.

And the fullback/wingback, who was one of nearly 20 players on Toronto's first team after last season's disastrous 6-18-10 campaign, is a familiar face. remain — captain Michael Bradley, midfielder Jonathan, among them Osorio and goalkeeper Alex Bono.

There will also be new talent, led by Italians Lorenzo Insigne, Federico Bernardeschi and Domenico Criscito.

"It's not hard to show that he (Laria) has the qualities to come right in and really make a difference and help us," said Toronto coach, Michael's father. Bob Bradley said.

Career Game No. 84 — in all competitions — has never been more productive for Laria with the Toronto Colors. The 27-year-old from Toronto scored a penalty and even scored one more of his own to set up his second goal for Osorio.

"Great," said Osorio. "We love him here at the club and I think it's very clear how much we care for him. It shows the lengths they've gone to to bring him back here. Richie loves this club too.I think Toronto gave him a chance in his career when he really needed it.He's been flying ever since."

Toronto waived a general distribution totaling US$350,000 in deals with FC Dallas and FC Cincinnati and moved up the distribution order to bring Laria back into the league.

With Crisito at left-back and Laria at right-back, Toronto have filled the void left by the retirement of Justin Morrow and the departure of Laria and Brazil's Auro.

For Laryea, after seeing limited action in England, this is his chance to gain valuable playing time ahead of his World Cup in November. And, ahead of Qatar, to reunite and build a relationship with Canadian teammates Osorio, Mark He Anthony He Kay, and Donnell Henry.

Laryea has already shown that he can make the most of his second chance.

The University of Akron was drafted 7th overall by Orlando City in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft. Spent his three seasons on the Fringe.

It's never a good time to be unemployed. Even more so when the baby is on the way.

Toronto threw a lifeline at him in the form of a preseason trial for him, and then-coach Greg His Bunny attempted to convert Laria from midfielder to fullback.

Having changed his aim, Laria showed that penalty he can be a thorn in the enemy team with the ability to cut into the box. Defenders had to take risks to find his teammates or go for the goal himself.

Laryea gives an edge to the game rather than turning the other cheek or down. Cross him at your peril.

Part of Canada's recent international success is the fraternity among its players and their willingness to do what is needed. Larya embodies that.

Although playing time for England was infrequent, Laria was a regular fixture under his coach John Hardman of Canada. He participated in all six of Canada's World Cup qualifiers earlier this year, of which he started four for a total of 30 caps.

Like his Canadian teammates, Laliere celebrated qualifying for the World Cup with his 4-0 victory. Fans warmly welcomed him at BMO Field in Jamaica on March 27. His parents, brother and a few friends were on hand while his wife and his son returned to England.

Asked about his situation at Nottingham Forest, Laria said he had arrived in England mid-season and was waiting for his time. The team was on track, as was wingback Jed Spence ahead of him.

Laria, who moved to Forrest in January, was happy to do what was needed.

"I've been in a bad situation all along. This isn't even a bad thing at all," he said in March. "Obviously it's frustrating. Everybody wants to play. Professionals want to play, especially guys like me... just getting on with their days. It's okay.

Said he did some extra work.

"I told myself I had to do some more," he said.

showed that he beat Canada in the games against Costa Rica and Jamaica.

"It was hard not being able to play in Nottingham. I could play the game and feel like I helped the team, it was good mentally," he said. After Jamaica's victory.

Competition for a place in Forest has intensified with promotion to the Premier League, despite Spence's move to Tottenham with a move to Tottenham.

Forrest has spent over £70million ($108.8million) to bolster his roster. UK reports say the promotion is worth at least £170m ($264m) in increased revenue for the club, and is well funded.

Having appeared in five of his matches in his six months in England, Laryea has nothing but good things to say about Forest.

"No negatives. Lots of positives. I think it has helped me a lot to grow as a player, as a person, especially off the field. , you may have a different view of how I felt, and people may think I'm unhappy or miserable, but I think it was the other way around."

He said it would work again "over a million times."

Larya's loan deal "runs through the summer of 2023" means he'll be here for a while. Laryea clearly appreciates the opportunity.

``My love for this club is unconditional... I don't take it lightly to play for this club, to represent this club. "It's always good to wear this shirt."
