Keenum is about to enter his first season on the NFL's favorite team, but hilariously tried to prove he's in the shadow of superstar Bills starter Josh Allen.
Bills shared a video earlier this week. It begins with Keenum arriving at a training camp disguised as a fan. "I'm Case Keenum. Most days I'm Josh Allen's backup. No one knows who I am. That's great. So let's see how many autographs I get from my teammates today."
Keenum puts on a bucket hat and sunglasses and goes to work. The 34-year-old lined up for autographs from players while speaking in an interesting drawl. After tricking one player, Keenum drops his accent and returns to the well in an attempt to get his second signature. At that point, the player looked up and said, "Is this an incident?" Laughter continued.
In his nine years in the NFL, Keenum has played for six teams.
The video shows him getting mixed results as a sign chaser. He receives signatures from everyone, some ignore him almost completely, while others realize his true identity.
That's when I looked at my credentials and told them I had to go behind the fence with other fans. Another winner for him is when he asks Bills tight end Quintin Morris who his favorite backup quarterback is. “I like both,” he replied.
Buffalo general managers Brandon Bean and Allen at least recognized Keenum immediately.
