Blue Jays a disappointment for bettors in 2022 regular season

The Toronto Blue Jays broke some hearts by taking only one win from their regular season-ending doubleheader on Wednesday.

But they were just one of five teams who came within a half-game of their pre-season set total.

In failing to sweep the Orioles in an otherwise meaningless double dip, the Jays wound up with 92 victories on the year. Their wagering win total with multiple books was 92.5, which meant the Jays would have had to reach 93 victories for just the sixth time in franchise history.

According to BetOnLine, also falling just one win short of their over were four teams from the senior circuit: San Diego Padres, Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago Cubs and Colorado Rockies.
