Tampa Bay Rays, who swept host Toronto Blue Jays with a doubleheader on Saturday, stopped four consecutive losses and set a rubber match in Sunday's five-game series.
Raise's batter escaped from the doubleheader drought with 6-2 and 11-5 victories.
In the first game, the raise ended at 13, so all Tampa Bay starters in the lineup were hit at least once.
"It was encouraging," said Kevin Cash, Rays' manager. "Everyone slipped through it."
In the second game, 7 out of 9 starters made a total of 14 hits.
"Not all guys are attacked at once," Cash said after the first match. "But in the way it's going, it's refreshing to find a way for everyone to hit and get on the base, and hope it's taken over."
{29 Francisco Mejía fired a two-run shoot with Solo Homer in the second game. Isaac Paredes had a solo homer in the first game and had a three-run explosion in the second game. Paredes has 13 home runs in the season and 3 home runs in the series."In a long day, everything was gathered for us," Cash said. "I was really proud and impressed by everyone because it's difficult to win both games in the doubleheader."
Shane McClanahan hit 10 in 7 innings in the first match However, the pitching duel with Kevin Gausman was shortened after two innings.
When Wander Franco's line drive hit him in play, Gausman suffered a bruise on his right ankle and was in the second final.
Casey Lawrence, who had been pitching for three days off from the start at Triple A Buffalo, replaced him and allowed six runs in 52/3 innings.
Gausman's ankle x-ray was negative, but it's unclear when he'll make his next start.
"(Gausman) has been bruised and will go from there," said Blue Jays manager Charlie Montoyo between matches. "I hoped it wasn't bad. He's one of our best pitchers. I think he wore a high top (shoes), but it helped a bit."
Toronto kicked off the first major league of the season by calling right-handed Thomas Hatch from Buffalo in the second match on Saturday. He allowed 10 runs in 42/3 innings.
Toronto launches right-handed Ross Stripling (4-2, 3.12 ERA) against Rays' right-handed Shane Baz (0-1, 3.38) on Sunday ..
Stripping is 0-2, 3.80 ERA with 7 career appearances (2 starts) against the raise.
Buzz is 1-0, 3.60 ERA in one career start with Toronto.
Tampa Bay leads the season series in Toronto 4-3.
Toronto acquired left-handed Anthony Banda from Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday, taking cash into account. Pirates have appointed Banda.
Toronto has moved right-handed Julian Merryweather (left abdominal tension) to the 60-day injured list to allow room for the 40-person roster.
Banda, 28, played in 23 Pirates games this season with an ERA of 6.41. He made 22 strikeouts this season in 192/3 innings.
In his 6 year career, he is 7-5, 5.50 ERA.
Toronto chose right-handed Max Castillo as Buffalo after Game 1 and promoted the hatch to start Game 2.
Tampa Bay has selected right-handed David McKay for Triple A Durham. He added the taxi team Dusten Knight, and right-handed Christopher Ogand to the taxi team.
