Paltrow's honest answer during the ski collision trial involving a 76-year-old did her no favours

Gwyneth Paltrow probably didn’t have a very good weekend.
The 50-year-old founder of goop, a lifestyle brand, is standing trial for a collision that took place at a ski resort in Utah in 2016. As a result, Paltrow is being sued for US$300,000 in damages for allegedly leaving retired optometrist Dr. Terry Sanderson with permanent brain damage.
When asked on Friday how she suffered following the collision, Paltrow simply replied: “Well, we lost half a day of skiing.”
Sanderson’s daughter Shae Herath during her testimony said the accident had robbed the 76-year-old of his “zest for life”. “He could do almost anything, except for a backflip.” But now he is “very insecure” and does not “trust his brain.”
The actress’ suffering since then has gone viral on social media with fellow actress Busy Philipps taking the first jab.
Alongside actress Jen Tullock, Philipps posted a photo on Instagram with the two of them having cocktails and a caption that reads: “Well, we lost half a day of skiing.”
Although this may not be the biggest misstep Paltrow’s taken during the trial. Last week, her team’s well-meaning offer to bring treats for the bailiffs has said to have stunned judge Kent Holmberg.
“Private security for my client wanted to bring in treats for the bailiffs for how helpful they’ve been,” her lawyer Stephen Owens asked the judge. “So, I wanted to do that transparently and see if there are any objections.”
The judge was unimpressed. “OK, there’s an objection so thank you, but no thank you.” He was said to have look “baffled” as he snubbed the offer,” per Mail Online.
Meanwhile, Paltrow’s scrutiny is far from over for she is also being questioned for her idea to countersue that some claim has been inspired by Taylor Swift. In 2017, Swift sued former DJ David Mueller for battery and sexual assault and sought $1 in damages.
Paltrow was asked by Sanderson’s lawyer, Kristin VanOrman if she was “good friends” with Swift. To which Paltrow replied “No.”
“I would not say we’re good friends,” the actress said. “We are friendly. I’ve taken my kids to one of her concerts before, but we don’t talk very often.”
