The bakery was visited on Feb. 3 when it received the conditional pass notice, and remains open to the public for its wide selection of freshly baked goods and desserts, as well as extensive hot table.
“Fail to ensure food handler in food premise washes hands as necessary to prevent contamination of food,” “fail to protect food from contamination or adulteration” and “display potentially hazardous foods at internal temperature between 4 C and 60 C” are the three most severe instances.
Of the seven significant violations, two pertained to the establishment’s handwashing stations (“fail to maintain,” so no or lack of liquid soap and paper towels and not being “conveniently accessible” to those who handle the food).
Other notable significant infractions include “fail to sanitize multi-service articles after use,” the food equipment is “not of readily cleanable form” and its utensils are “not free from cracks in contact with food.”
