Stranger Things, The Boys, etc .: CBC's Eli Glasner's Streaming Report Card This Summer

For science fiction, superheroes and paranormal fans, the arrival of summer brings a feast of streaming options. However, some shows aren't happy and others are happy because the studio is rushing to create content to keep us clicking. This is completely worth binge or skip.

Obi-Wan Kenobi

Power is strong, but nothing compared to power No nostalgia. Once ridiculed, the day beforeStar Warsbecame loved, especially among the generations who grew up with them. Therefore, there was a lot of excitement when it was announced that Ewan McGregor would return to the robe of the six-part miniseries as Obi-Wan Kenobi. But we couldn't get the dashing "hello there" Jedi master of prequels, but rather a broken guru and act. Rescue Princess Leia, a preteen who was hiding in the desert until she woke up.

A new series directed by Canada'sDeborah Chowintroduces some new faces to the world of Star Wars. Vivian Lai Brarea as a young Leia was a wonderful discovery and captured the existence and determination of a symbolic character.

Inquisitor LevaStar WarsFirst reaction to Moses Ingram when showing the disappointing side of fandom McGregor himself However, after Ingram revealed, she responded to and was the target of a racist attack. Fans who are particular about the show will find that Reva is a more layered character than the first episode suggested.

Of course, All of this was just a prelude to what many expected from the first moment Hayden Christensen was announced to be back. .. It was the ultimate reunion. Obi-Wan Kenobi confronted his biggest failure, Anakin, and the students darkened Sir Vader.

After waiting, the first collision was overwhelming and the subsequent collisions were slowly fascinating. A recent interview with Varietymay clarify the reason. Writer Stuart Beattie told the outlet that he wrote a cure for a feature film that seems to beObi-Wan Kenobi,. But after the movie's poor performancesolo, but Beatty's feature-length story was the basis of the six-part series. ..

Rating:Victims of C-streaming content.

When some programs end and others approach the finale , CBC's Eli Glasser evaluates new show Stranger Things, Ms. Marvel, The Boys, Obi-Wan Kenobi Season.

Marvel-san

Four episodes, this is a kind of Marvel show Superhero stuff is almost distracting. Iman Verani in Markham, Ontario continues to be the strongest element of theMs. Marvel as Gen Z Peter Parker Kamala Khan. She has a sense of surprise and credibility in the character. She is around her She is also a strong Pakistani-American family. Especially, as her parents, Pitch Perfect Zenobia Schlov and Hohan Kapoor.

Like Spider-Man, Marvel had a neighborhood atmosphere in the comics. But her recent episode uprooted her from New Jersey to Karachi, Pakistan. Seeing Kamala involved in a power struggle between a group called Crandestin and the Red Dagger, she may want to return to a simple high school bet. But weaving in the dark days of the Indian partition and the interstellar roots of Kamala is impressive.

Rating: B is good for getting big rewards.

Stranger Things-Season 4-Part 1

Seeing the new season of Stranger Things makes feel too good and sometimes frustrated. Like too many series in the streaming era, the story feels stretched where it can be condensed, which means less clicks.

Season 4 menu includes Russian prison stories,  a winding journey through Eleven's memory, and Hawkins teens again. Under attack A mysterious murderer has targeted the town at 's local Dungeons and Dragons club. With a budget of about $ 30 million for the episode

, the show is saving money while introducing new characters. Many of the fans' favorites remain (stoic hopper, endless funny boy genius Dustin), but Joseph Quinn, Eddie, Metalhead D, one of the new faces I enjoyed most. It is a department.&D Master was trapped in the cover of a living Iron Maiden. Or the pizza delivery guy played by Argyle, Eduardo Franco and Brett Gelman as Murray, who can adapt endlessly.

Stranger Thingsis a kind of show where it's difficult to choose your favorite character, but the bounce from storyline to storyline was a test of patience. We expect the various threads to merge in Part 2 which will be available on July 1st.

Rating: B + to undo the gang.

Boys

The world's causal soda, where superheroes and businesses vie for supremacy,Boysshock with wisdom and style (and exploding bodies ... so many exploding bodies) ..

While some other shows suffer from weak villains, it was the Homelander, the fascist version of Superman, the most powerful person on the planet, who enhanced this super satire. This is Antony Starr. The new season was a spectacular slow burn, as the star suggests how the homelander's carefully maintained façade is beginning to crack. Accelerating the collapse was Captain America's foulmouth riff, and perhaps the Homelander's only weakness, the resurrection of the Soldier Boy. At the heart of last week's episode, a lot of attention was paid to the adult Shenanigan, but it also brought about a short but satisfying brutal fight that the Homelander was about to lose his head. ..

Rating: A is always above expectations.
