Government undercuts the system
Re:The real "free convoy" threat is against social norms, June 24th.
Brigitte Pellerin's opinion exaggerates the damage done by the convoy to our agency and the integrity of our parliamentary system.
As she suggests, if the convoy poses a serious threat to the foundations and institutions that keep us free, prosperous and democratic, to the participants and organizers. A more serious accusation would have been made. A greater threat to our democracy and our system and parliamentary process continues to be a clear misrepresentation of the current government of facts to justify the enforcement of emergency legislation (eg police). The agency has demanded the enforcement of the law; or foreign funding convoys, including Russia).
Recently, the lack of transparency and obstruction by members of the Liberal Party government at the hearing of the Special Joint Committee on Emergency Law shows contempt for the parliamentary process it seeks. Understand the situations that lead to the enforcement of the law.
Obviously, liberals do not believe that Canadians need to be accountable. If our elected civil servants show such contempt for the process of our institution and parliament, they feel unheard of and malicious by the Prime Minister during the two-year pandemic. You can hardly criticize those who have.
