Toronto FC violent rival CF Montréal on Wednesday I ran to. The night of a 4-0 victory in the BMO Field of the Canadian Championship Semifinals.

Brampton native Ayoa Kinora scored two goals in the Reds, and Hess Jimenez and Alejandro Pozuero added singles.

"We came out on our front legs, attacked and pushed. I didn't want to give him a chance to breathe," he said, recently returning to the TFC lineup after his last knee surgery. Said Akinora. summer. "And we had to take advantage of the opportunity and filled it."

Despite many scoring opportunities, Montreal was on a hot night on Lake Ontario. I couldn't buy the goal. Goalkeeper Quentin Westberg recorded a clean sheet, the first shutout by TFC since September 25, last year, a 0-0 draw at the Colorado Rapids. Westberg made a point blank save to Ahmed Hamdi in the 85th minute to preserve the goose eggs.

Toronto granted most of the ownership to visitors fromLabel State(59% -41%), but was deadly in a counterattack, Montreal 11 Eight shots were fired from the shot. Lower Canada guests scored three times and scored six shots. Montreal (7W 6L 2D) is 8 points above Toronto (4-8-3), but TFC was better on Wednesday.

Akinora, who just missed a few chances in the first half of the match, scored a counterattack in the 40th minute, leading the home team 1-0 and scoring with a tap. I mentioned it. -After a great pass from Luca Petrasso who received the perfect path to the left from Jimenez.

In the 9th minute of the second half, Akinora's second point was spectacular. Hurrying to pick up a pass from Pozuero just outside the middle of the box, Aquinola stepped to his right to avoid a pair of Montreal defenders and blasted with his right foot just below the crossbar.

After a corner kick in Toronto, a Montreal defender tried to clear and Jimenez scored a goal with his left foot in the 75th minute. He has eight goals this season and in every tournament this season. This is the majority of TFC players.

Pozuero, with the help of Jayden Nelson, placed the cherry on the TFC cake when he shot with his right foot very close in the 78th minute.

TFC will play the Vancouver / York United winner in the CC finals in July. The Reds have won eight record Canadian Championships and Montreal has won five.

"It's a true rivalry," said Aquinola, who plays Montreal. "Whenever we play them, we always want to kick their ass. It's the same for them. There's always tension. There's always a fight. For these teams, everything is clean. It doesn't mean that. ”

Reds defeated CPL giant Forge FC in a penalty kick on June 4th to win the 2020 Canadian Championship, which was postponed for two years for COVID, for a year. There is a rare chance to win two Voyageurs Cups in 19 Pandemic.

TFC coach Bob Bradley has four recently injured players in the lineup. Jonathan Osorio, Shane O'Neill, Jerky Marshall Rutti, Chris Mavinga, but only O'Neill starts at XI. Marshall-Rutty, Osorio and Mavinga all appeared in the second half. Osorio has replaced 19-year-old Ralph Prizo, who performed best this season. With five games in 15 days in this recent stretch, Bradley is trying to rotate the lineup to keep players as fresh as possible. Montreal coach Wilfried Nancy has made significant changes to the starting lineup after losing to Austin 1-0 on Saturday. We had veteran Kei Kamara in the second half, but we didn't start all the regulars. Montreal's top scorer Giorgemi Hailovich couldn't play this year with 7 goals and 4 assists.

Nelson, who was pacing with a TFC hammer on the right side, stole the ball at the edge of Montreal in the first minute and shot with his right foot from the goal post. Nelson also launched a counter that brought Akinora's first goal.

TFC defender O'Neill may have made a good block and saved the goal with Samuel Piette's shot at Montreal's best chance in the 20th minute.

Immediately after the goal in the first half of Akinora, Nelson was on the right side of the box on the receiving side of the beautiful mite tack to play from Aquinola to Jimenez to Nelson. Montreal defender Rudy Camacho stepped into the ball when Nelson tried to point the ball at the goal. Just before the half-time whistle, Aquinola was set up again just before the goal with another counterattack, but Montreal keeper James Pantemis made a good save.

The next match in Toronto will be against Atlanta on Saturday night at BMO Field.

Insigne touching down to Little Italy

Serie A Side Naples former captain Lorenzo Insigne of TFC Forward will premiere in Toronto on Friday. A "street-style" reception will be held at 5 pm in Italy (Clinton Street, away from College Street).

TFC signed a contract with Insigne in January. This is the most profitable MLS deal in history, reportedly at $ 15 million per season over four years. The MLS secondary transfer window will open on July 7, so Insigne's TFC's first match will be on July 9, when San Jose Earthquakes visited BMO Field. If he is healthy and ready to play. Natives of Naples missed the recent Finalishima in the "small calf problem". According to @TransfersMLS, Genoa's left-back Domenico Criscito will also be attending TFC this summer or Turin striker Andrea Belotti.
