Trump uses FBI raid to boost 2024 presidential run

Article Author:

Washington — Business Hours Former President Donald Trump most likely plans to run for president in 2024 with Joe Biden after accusing FBI raids of his Florida home of political persecution I just posted a style video.

The FBI's actions on Monday arguably put Trump in his political sweet spot, allowing him to claim he is a victim of institutional forces seeking to destroy him. Republicans rallied around him again when his grip on them seemed to be waning.

Trump and his allies on Tuesday wasted no time trying to stir up anger and passion among his supporters, while at the same time his Mar-a-Lago Attempted to rake in dollars from a house raid in Palm Beach, Florida.

"There's no mountain you can't climb, no peak you can't reach, no task you can't reach," Trump said in a new video, which included broad criticism of the Democratic administration of Biden. I won't, I won't break, I won't give in."

This ad was followed by a fundraiser highlighting the raid.

As part of an investigation into President Trump's removal of a box of classified records from the White House at the end of his presidency in 2021, FBI investigators reportedly said, according to Reuters sources. They broke into President Trump's home.

Trump's family says he cooperated with the investigation, and criminal charges remain unclear.

Alyssa Farrar Griffin, former White House aide to President Trump, told CNN on Tuesday that if the results of the document raid were found to fall short of public expectations, He said anger among Republican voters could help Trump win the party nomination.

"Today is a very good day for Donald Trump, if that can be seen as some sort of massive overreach, rather than something incredibly serious," she said.

Trump, 76, remains a viable candidate despite surviving two impeachments and extensive investigations into his ties to Russia during his presidency. An investigation into his financial dealings and potential election interference is ongoing.

During the November midterm elections, a number of Republican lawmakers, governors and candidates condemned the attacks and also claimed that the US Department of Justice acted politically.

Political tactics.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis called the raid "a further escalation of the federal agency's weaponization against [the administration's] political opponents."

DeSantis has long been seen as a potential Republican challenger to Trump for the 2024 presidential nomination, but he faces re-election as governor this year, with his Relying on enthusiastic Trump endorsements to help get there.

Some Democrats were openly worried about the political blow.

Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, a Democrat, has called on the Justice Department to immediately explain the reasons for the raid.

"It has to be more than petty archive searches or it will be seen as political tactics," multiple women accuse him. After resigning as governor a year ago, Cuomo tweeted: unwanted sexual advances he denied.

The Republican has long argued that voters will be more willing to vote in his November 8 midterm elections, where control of Congress is at stake. But Democrats hope to close the enthusiasm gap after the U.S. Supreme Court scraps constitutional protections against abortion, winning a series of high-priced legislative victories in Congress.

Biden, in particular, has enjoyed a string of positive news, including the passage of long-awaited climate and health-care bills in the Senate as economic data outperformed expectations.

Now Republicans seem to be counting on his FBI raid. The organization of the Republican National Committee, which supports candidates for the US Senate and House of Representatives, has launched a fundraising salvo.

Candidates such as Herschel Walker, running for Senate in Georgia, and Kari Lake, the Republican candidate for Governor of Arizona, have flatly condemned the raid.

"Our government is corrupt to the core," Lake said in a statement, calling the Biden administration "tyrant" and "corrupt."

Some of Lake's rhetoric is the same as those who participated in the January 6, 2021 siege of the US Capitol, and Trump-friendly social his media his channel After the raid, the topic of "Civil War" became a hot topic.

Trump implied over the summer that he was responsible for the attacks on the Capitol before a congressional committee inquiry into the events of January 6. , has been implicated by testimony. Whether he faces criminal charges is an open question.

Perhaps as a result, the polls show Trump's position falling in the eyes of some Republicans. Nearly half of Republican primary voters wanted a presidential candidate other than Trump, according to a New York Times and Siena College poll released last month.

Even if Trump wins most Republican voters, there is no certainty that he will be able to regather the broad support he gained in the successful 2016 election. That point.
