Just days shy of the fifth anniversary of their strange murder, a daughter of Honey and Barry Sherman is urging the public to offer information while reminding there’s a $10 million reward still available.
“Your information is urgently needed to help solve this crime and bring those responsible to justice,” Alex Krawczyk, one of four Sherman children, said in a media statement. “The $10 million reward for information leading to a conviction remains available and is still unclaimed.”

The billionaire couple that Forbes estimated to be worth $3.2 billion were found Dec. 15, 2017 in the indoor pool area of their home on Old Colony Road in north Toronto in what was originally believed to be a murder suicide. But 42 days later, it was deemed a double homicide the police believed occurred Dec. 13.
To their children – Jonathon, Lauren, Alexandra and Kaelen – they were more than murder victims or a sensational headline.
“My heart is broken. My loss is immeasurable. My children have lost their grandparents,” said Krawczyk. “We miss their guidance, love, and wisdom.”
With the fifth anniversary coming next week, Toronto Police have indicated the file is still very active and every lead is being tracked down. But there have been no arrests. The only potential suspect information presented was last year when a video image of a man walking along a sidewalk on a street near the home.
While not considered a cold case, it’s not a case that is considered hot. Comments from the Sherman children have been rare. This is the first time one of them have commented since the selling of their father’s giant generic pharmaceutical firm Apotex to SK Capital Partners for an undisclosed sum in September.
At the time of his death at 75, Barry Sherman was considered to be Canada’s 15th wealthiest person. With wife Honey Sherman, 70, they donated tens of millions of dollars to charities.
“Their dedication to service and philanthropy impacted many people, some of whom have shared their beautiful and inspiring stories with me,” said Krawczyk.
Along with releasing new pictures of her parents, Krawczyk is calling for renewed attention in trying to solve the slayings.
“We cannot let another year pass without justice being done,” wrote Krawczyk in her statement. “Toronto Police Service Homicide Unit continues to pursue its ongoing and active investigation.“

She added, “if you have any information about the murders of my parents, I urge you to please contact the Toronto Police Service at shermantips@torontopolice.on.ca.”
Krawczyk reminded that the “horrific manner in which they were taken from us has been extremely traumatic and has irreparably damaged the fabric of our community” and especially for the immediate family.
She talked of the charitable side of her parents but also how good they were to their children and grandchildren. “With kindness and humility, my parents provided leadership and unbound generosity to charities across Canada and around the world,” said Krawczyk.
But five years later the intrigue of why they were slain, and by whom, remains a mystery.
