The City of Ottawa said the closure is expected to "significantly impact traffic."
Part of Route 417 closed Thursday night, It will remain closed until Monday morning as construction workers replace the bridge over Booth Street.

Highway 417 will be completely closed in both directions between Metcalfe Street and Kirkwood Avenue beginning at 8pm. The highway section will reopen at 6am on Monday, August 15th.

Lane reduction and ramp closure is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM. Thursday will be fully closed in an hour.
The construction project will also require the closure of some city roads.
• Booth Street between Daniel McCann Street and Arlington Street will be closed until August 25th.
• Raymond Street will be closed between Lebreton Street North and Rochester Street. The section between Booth Street and Rochester Street will not reopen until October 30th.
• Rochester Street will be closed from 6pm between Gladstone Avenue and Aberdeen Street. From August 11th to August 15th at 6:00 AM
During the closure, a detour will be applied to Hwy 417 eastbound and westbound.
