Aaron Ramsdale has revealed the whole Arsenal dressing room is refusing to talk about winning the Premier League title.
Ramsdale insists no one is getting carried away after just eight games and there is plenty of time for reigning champions Manchester City to do something “crazy.” Gunners goalkeeper Ramsdale says they are “loving” the ride but warned the fixture schedule ahead of the World Cup could be crucial.
Ramsdale said: “We’re a young team and literally we are going into a game trying to enjoy ourselves and winning. Then we’ll see where that takes us. This month, before the World Cup, we have three different competitions and we want to win in every single one of them.
“Then we will see where we are at the break because, at the end of the day, we want to win trophies. But we’re eight games in. Something always happens with the likes of Man City. A few years ago, they were 14th at Christmas and went on some crazy run. We’re just loving the journey at the minute and long may that continue.
“We are just going into every game with a big smile on our face trying to win the game. When we win, we celebrate, and if we don’t, then we evaluate it and go again.”
Ramsdale put in another fine performance as Arsenal defeated local rivals Tottenham in Saturday lunchtime's North London derby. The Gunners ran out 3-1 winners after Gabriel Jesus and Granit Xhaka struck in the second half, following an opener from Thomas Partey and penalty-spot equaliser from Harry Kane.

Getty Images)Although Ramsdale was beaten by Kane from 12 yards, as the England captain slotted down the middle, he denied Richarlison with a brilliant stop from close range when the game was still goalless. Revelling in his side's derby-day triumph, the 'keeper took to social media after the match to post a celebratory picture with the simple caption: "Oh yes!"
Mikel Arteta shared in Ramsdale's delight, telling Arsenal.com : “This is a very different game because there is a lot of emotion for both. It’s really meaningful for everybody, and the build-up is very different. We know that it’s a day in the calendar that is a chance to deliver something to our people and that brings a little bit more responsibility, but I think the players handled it really well.”
Arsenal host Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League in their next outing before welcoming Liverpool to the Emirates next Sunday. While the Reds have looked a shadow of themselves during the opening stages of the season, the contest will provide another stern test of the Gunners' title credentials.
