The president's chief medical adviser spoke Tuesday with Dr. Larry Corey at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Washington Seattle. , was awarded the Honorary Hatch Award.
This award is typically given to baseball players who serve as medical advocates off the field. Dr. Fauci is his second non-player to win the award.
Dr. Corey, former president of Fred Hatch, spoke before about 100 employees and medical professionals about Dr. Fauci's long career and the future of the pandemic.
"We expect another surge in the fall," Dr. Fauci said of his Covid-19 cases.
Reflecting on the beginning of the 2020 pandemic, Dr. Corey said:

His Twitter account for the Republican National Committee said he tweeted a 35-second segment from the hour-long conversation, stating, "Anthony Fauci, Biden's top science adviser, on the origin and function of COVID. We're joking and laughing about acquisition research."
Dr. Fauci has been targeted withdeath threats,and exposed to unsubstantiated conspiracy theories surrounding Covid-19.
He arrived at the cancer center with agents of his service in secret,King Five reported.
"It still amazes me that people can still cling to such falsehoods. They have so much going on in their lives that they just accept it as fact." Dr. Fauci said on Tuesday.
Dr. Fauci was also in Seattle Tuesday night to throw the first pitch at MLB's Seattle Mariners-New York Yankees game.
