Claudia Winkleman, Kristin Lampard and Tyrone Mings Announced as Jury Members for Who Cares Wins Awards

You sent us incredible stories of health heroes. And now we can introduce you to the amazing judges who will crown our champions.

Who Cares Winsis sponsored by the National Lottery and works in the healthcare sector. An annual celebration honoring the heroes who are or volunteer.

With hundreds of entries this year, a strong panel of eight faces the challenge of picking the most deserving winners.

The Sun Editor-in-Chief Victoria Newton said:

"At the forefront of our minds this year is the memory of Deborah James, a dear colleague and friend who passed away in June.

18} "She was a long-time judge on Who Cares Wins and kicked off this year's awards.

"This year's nominees exemplify her generous and inspiring spirit. We will repay it by honoring them.” Her tributes too.

Our winners will be honored at an awards ceremony in London hosted byDavina McCall and on Channel 4 next month.

Like many of us, the judges here in the UK explain why they are honored to be part of Who Cares Wins.

ELLIE ORTON — Chief Executive of NHS Charities Together and charity partner of Who Cares Wins

ALMOSTWe are all happiest at some point in our lives when theNHS

Each of us has a very personal reason to say thank you — and these The awards are an opportunity for us to recognize the amazing people who care for us and our families.

Since the pandemic, NHS workers continue to face enormous challenges and The pressure is mounting on service and long waiting lists. And we know the challenges don't stop there.

But despite these extraordinary circumstances, e's Our employees have taken care of all this and provided excellent care.

And while it is impossible to honor every untold story, we are grateful to all the extraordinary doctors, nurses, midwives, paramedics, surgeons, volunteers, and researchers. I look forward to hearing from individuals, philanthropists and others. made a difference in your life.

Christine Lampard — TV host

While we all thanked the NHS, health workers and volunteersbefore Covid, I have never been more grateful to them.

And this award ceremony is perhaps more moving than ever. Healthcare workers and healthcare workers have not had an easy time. They all deserve awards.

These awards are a pat on the back for those who deserve them. And I think it's very important.

I am delighted that my girlfriend's 3 year old daughter Patricia wants to follow in the footsteps of our NHS heroes.

All she talks about is the doctor. She has a little doctor's case and a stethoscope, and she always says she wants to "make us better." But really, there is no better person to respect.

The last time I went to an award ceremony, I had a wonderful time chatting in the bathroom with the family members involved.

A great night for those who deserve it, and it matters more than ever.

TYRONE MINGS — Aston Villa and English footballer

Last year when I attended the Who Cares Wins Awards and handed out the prizes, I was blown away.

We have seen so many incredible people, from paramedics who almost lost their lives responding to emergency calls, to midwives rushing to help new mothers give birth on planes. was there to honor.

We were lucky enough to give Carmela Chillery-Watson, her 7-year-old, her Hero of the Young Award.

Even though she has muscular dystrophy, by dressing as Wonder Woman and walking hundreds of miles, she has raised £100,000 to fund research into the condition. did not stop

Soccer players are often said to be role models for young people, but I think the real role models are our health heroes.

I am honored to be on the jury this year, but of course it will be very difficult to choose among the very qualified candidates.

Everyone deserves a prize.

DR ZOE WILLIAMS — Dweller of the Sun GP

I am honored to be a judge for this year's Who Cares Wins Awards.

Having worked for the NHS as a doctor and as a medical assistant for many years before attending medical school, I have witnessed first-hand an incredible amount of hard work, selflessness and dedication. I've been work.

Many people try to do what they want without expecting recognition for their actions.

But they absolutely deserve it and these awards are a great way to shine a light on the great people who make up our great NHS. , provides a great opportunity for the public to remember how great our healthcare system is.

It's not perfect, but the people who work here are great.

PENNY LANCASTER — Loose Women Panelist

Our health heroes are true rock stars.

They battled the coronavirus, are still working tirelessly under unprecedented pressure, and even found time to help the victims of the war in Ukraine.

I have been a supporter of Who Cares Wins since its inception in 2017 and the story of incredible heroism is sure to bring tears to my eyes.

We are so lucky to have wonderful people among us who bravely help others in times of crisis and try to keep us safe and healthy.

Like everyone else, my family and I have had to seek medical services many times over the years.

I will always be grateful that you were there when I needed it, like when my son fell off a railing or when my dad had a heart attack and needed urgent help. .

So let me say thank you.

This special evening will undoubtedly feature the most important people in our society.

ADAM KAY — Physician turned best-selling author and cartoonist

The NHS has never been a better place to work, but it has never been so in the last few years.

We have seen the talented people who make up our health service go above and beyond to sustain the rest of us. , everything could have collapsed.

Sometimes it feels like all you hear about the NHS is complaints, but in reality it's because of the creaky system that works in it and has so much to offer. It's not the fault of some incredible individuals.

Thank you. I wish I could give an award to everyone working within the NHS or otherwise supporting her NHS.

No business is entered into the medical service for money or prestige. You do it because you want to make a difference and help people. It's the most rewarding job in the world, but it's still nice to reward some of the best heroes a little extra.

Who Cares Wins is always a highlight of my year . Some stories are heartbreaking, some are breathtaking, and all are deeply moving.
