Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield queue row UPDATE: Anyone called Holly or Phil can queue jump at certain clubs

AFTER THE fallout of the This Morning host's Queue Gate scandal, some night clubs have made light of the situation that has divided the nation.

The Five Bar in Huddersfield, Liquid and Envy in Oldham and the Fever & Boutique on the Isle of Wight are reportedly letting night club goers skip the lengthy queue if their name is either Holly or Phil.

Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield have been the subject of controversy after being accused of skipping the 12 hour queue to see the Queen Lying in State ahead of her funeral that took place on Monday.

While most of the United Kingdom argue whether they did indeed skip the queue or not, night clubs are making light of the situation this weekend.

One Twitter user hilariously wrote: "my mates daughter just made my day. The nightclub she goes to in Birmingham, Thursday night.. 'If your name is Holly or Phil, you don't have to queue.. just show your ID and you can walk straight in'... made me laugh"

  • Night club goes called Holly or Phil can jump the queue this weekend

Some clubs have taken advantage of the awkward situation the This Morning hosts have found themselves in.

The following nightclubs are letting you in without having to stand outside for ages: Five Bar in Huddersfield, Liquid and Envy in Oldham and the Fever & Boutique on the Isle of Wight."

  • This Morning fans call on Alison and Dermot to take on the show full time

Holly and Phil took a break from This Morning today, being replaced by Alison and Dermot, and fans were all saying the same thing.

This Morning fans called for the pair to replace Holly and Phil, following accusations that they skipped the queue to see Her Majesty’s coffin.

One person wrote: “Keep Alison and Dermot on #ThisMorning or the lovely Josie Gibson. Totally different vibe. The other pair have had their day.”

A second added: “Why do Alison and Dermot not present full time? Do people actually like Holly and Phillip? Ew.”

While a third said: “Love to see Alison and Dermot on the sofa, such a refreshing change 😊.”

  • How many people waited in the lying in state queue?

Over 250,000 people reportedly waited in the massive queue to see Her Majesty’s coffin.

Holly and Phil’s choice to not take part in what became somewhat of a national pilgrimage, and instead, skip the queue, has left thousands of Brits fuming.

Currently, a petition to have them AXED from ITV’s This Morning, has over 67,000 signatures.

  • Ashley James: Holly and Phil "were press accredited"

The presenter said she was "confused" by the "backlash" Holly and Phil have been hit with.

She said that they "hardly" queue jumped on Twitter.

One hit back in response: "Journalists around the country/world commentated on the funeral without needing to file past the coffin or even be in there.

"There was a 24 hr, live feed, what could they have possibly filmed/ informed us that we didn’t already know?

"They took advantage of their celeb status."

I'm so confused as to why Holly and Phil are getting so much backlash. They were filming a national TV show and had press accreditation? It's hardly queue jumping. People are so quick to jump on the attack.

  • Richard Ayoade rips Holly and Phil over Queuegate scandal

Richard Ayoade tore into Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield over the queuegate scandal on Have I Got News For You.

“ITV’s Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield… apparently just appeared in Westminster Hall on Sunday without having spent the previous 36 hours queueing,” Ayoade said.

“Just appeared? Like a haunting?” comedian Roisin Conaty asked.

Ayoade continued: “They’ve had to present ‘Hello Good Morning’ for five years, which you would’ve thought is punishment enough.”

  • Holly to keep job at M&S

The This Morning hosts job at M&S is secured.

After being signed on to the clothing range, Holly Willoughby's role with the retailer is safe.

The Sun was informed by a spokesperson that: "I can confirm we have extended our current contract with Holly, and we will continue to work with her."

  • Holly ‘devastated by all the negative reaction’

Although This Morning fans feared she had been ‘crying all night’ on Wednesday morning, an ITV source confirmed: “Holly will not quit.

“She has been devastated by all the negative reaction after she turned up to work at Westminster Hall with Phil on Friday, but she’s not going to resign.

“This Morning has been her life for more than a decade and the only way she’d consider quitting at this stage is if viewers really didn’t want her there.

“She’s tried to give their side of the story on the show today and they’re both hoping to move on from it now.

“Bosses know Holly is still a hit with viewers and are counting on her working her magic on the show for a good while yet.”

  • Holly and Phil defended by Gyles Brandreth

Gyles Brandreth defended Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield over the ‘queue-jumping’ incident sparked by the Queen’s Lying-in-State.

In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, Gyles said: “It is a terrible misunderstanding and I imagine people will realise that and will move on.

“[Holly and Phillip] are good people and good friends of mine.

“I am really sorry about the misunderstanding and it is sad that there is a misunderstanding because the atmosphere around Westminster, around Westminster Hall and Buckingham Palace, has been so universally good amongst all ages. It is a shame that anything should spoil it.

“But it genuinely was a misunderstanding, I completely accept that.”

  • Guardian columnist asks if people have reached a verdict on Holly and Phil

Guardian columnist Hannah Jane Parkinson addressed her readers by asking if they have reached a verdict on Holly Willoughby’s and Phillip Schofield’s behaviour during queue-gate.

She wrote: “Then there is the fundamental question of whether Willoughby and Schofield actually did skip the queue. As broadcasters, they were able to enter as accredited media – images show them being rushed through Westminster Hall and straight to the media platform. ITV has since confirmed that the pair had been asked to feature in a package about the Queen’s death.

“For those questioning the pair’s journalistic credentials, it’s a reasonable point, note that they have interviewed our last three prime ministers.”

Have you reached a verdict on their behaviour yet?

  • ITV defend Holly Willoughby and Phllip Schofield

Following the backlash against Holly and Phil over queuegate, ITV released the following statement:

News reports that Stockton-based Moja Indian takeaway posted a joke about the This Morning presenters on their social media account on Friday morning – by photoshopping Phil and Holly on to the background of the shop – with the caption “Apologies to everyone who is waiting on their order – we’ve just had Phil and Holly come in and order a meal #VIPTreatment.”

However, a lot of people suggested the joke was “tasteless”, with one social media user said: “It's all getting very boring and irrelevant now, while another added: “What happened to being kind? Give it a rest.”

  • Angry Brits brand Holly and Phil’s apology ‘pathetic’

Some Brits are not very impressed with the pair’s explanation as to why they did not stand in the queue with other mourning royalists.

Attempting to quell the wave of anger directed their way, Holly said: “We totally understand the reaction. Please know that we would never jump a queue.”

Rather, Willoughby explained that she and Mr Schofield were on the job while visiting the coffin, and thus got to skip to the front.

Some Brits have branded this a “pathetic excuse”, however.

One viewer tweeted: “Pathetic excuse. The 3 of them @hollywills @Schofe #MartinFrizell seen a loophole to jump the queue. Since when do any of them go to an outside filming piece. Lost the last bit of trust they had with the viewers @itv #ThisMorning @thismorning”

  • Holly breaks silence

After keeping a low profile while not on This Morning, Holly posted on her Instagram stories yesterday to congratulate her close pal Lisa Snowdon on winning Celebrity MasterChef.
