  • Liverpool 2-0 Rangers

    54. Rangers have their work cut out now.

Goldson and Diaz are both down after a coming together.

No intent from either player but just two players completely committed to winning the ball.

Diaz catches an elbow in the face while Goldson has a knock to the ankle leaving him walking gingerly.

  • Liverpool 2-0 Rangers

    52. Mo Salah scores his 16th Champions League goal at Anfield.

Luis Diaz darting into the box before being bundled over for the penalty.

Salah waits for McGregor to commit to a dive before stroking the ball down the middle of the goal.

  • Goal - Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)

  • Liverpool 1-0 Rangers

    50. Davis does well winning the second ball and feeding Kent.

He plays a teasing ball across the six yard box at pace.

Sadly there was no Rangers player able to get on the end of it.

  • Liverpool 1-0 Rangers

    48. Nunez is looking to get more involved in these early stages.

He really is quite a physical striker with a temper to match.

The Uruguayan gets into the box again but King blocks the attempt for a corner.

  • Liverpool 1-0 Rangers

    46. Nunez is penalised for a collision with King.

Rangers are knocking the ball around, trying to keep possession.

When there is no 'out ball' they are just having to knock the ball long, gifting possession back to The Reds.

  • Kick-off: Liverpool 1-0 Rangers

    Liverpool get the second-half underway.

Klopp will be looking for more goals from his side in this half.

McGregor may have another busy 45 minutes.

  • HT: Liverpool 1-0 Rangers

van Bronckhorst has his work cut out with his team talk.

Liverpool were rampant in the first half, stretching the visitors defence every time they came forward.

Rangers need a goal to get back into this game but will surely open themselves up to the Liverpool counter-attack in doing so.

  • HT: Liverpool 1-0 Rangers

Jurgen Klopp's side completely dominated that half with 70% possession.

13 shots with 7 on target, keeping McGregor very busy.

At the grand old age of 40, McGregor has been the stand-out performer for the Scottish side.

  • HT: Liverpool 1-0 Rangers

The referee brings the first half to a close.

Trent Alexzander-Arnold's free kick is the difference between the sides.

It has been mainly one-way traffic but thanks to Alan McGregor, Rangers are still in this game at the break.

  • Liverpool 1-0 Rangers

    45. Diaz breaks at pace down the left.

Rangers struggle to keep up with the Columbian.

He lays it off to Jota who tries to pick out Nunez but Rangers manage to clear the ball for a corner.

  • Liverpool 1-0 Rangers - Nunez chance!

    43. Liverpool look capable of hurting Rangers on the counter attack.

That is the danger of the visitors looking to attack.

It plays into Liverpool's hands with the pace of their attackers.

Nunez goes through on goal and shoots from the edge of the box but McGregor saves once again.

  • Liverpool 1-0 Rangers

    41. Liverpool need to find their range on their crosses.

They are getting themselves into great positions out wide but the crosses are often overhit.

Nunez gets a sight of goal and draws another brilliant save from McGregor.

  • Liverpool 1-0 Rangers

    39. Great ball from Alexander-Arnold, threading one through to Salah.

He gets to the byline and looks to cut the ball back to Nunez.

Goldson manages to cut it out for a corner.

  • Liverpool 1-0 Rangers

    37. Lundstram receives the first yellow card of the game.

Liverpool turn defence into attack immediately and as Jota looks to threat a ball through to the attack, the Rangers midfielder takes one for the team.

No arguments from anyone about the outcome.

  • Liverpool 1-0 Rangers - Nunez chance!

    35. McGregor denies Nunez again with a great save.

The Rangers keeper is having to work hard tonight to keep his side in this one.

Diaz cuts inside from the left and it opens up for him, he looks to bend one in the bottom corner but McGregor saves again.

  • Liverpool 1-0 Rangers

    33. The Liverpool attacking players are switching positions constantly.

Rangers' defenders do not know who to pick up at times.

Liverpool continue to probe, trying to find a second goal before half time.

  • Liverpool 1-0 Rangers

    31. Rangers are managing to clear their lines in defence......just!

They cannot hold onto the ball for long enough and gift away possession to Liverpool.

The Reds are still trying to find that pass to open Rangers up.

  • Liverpool 1-0 Rangers

    29. Liverpool are switching play from one flank to the other.

Creating space for the wide players as Rangers reshuffle.

Jurgen Klopp will be hoping to see more quality and composure from his team in the final third.

  • Liverpool 1-0 Rangers

    27. Tsimikas whips in a Liverpool corner but Lundstram heads clear.

The ball comes straight back at Rangers.

A dangerous ball to the back post is headed behind for a corner.

Alexander-Arnold's corner is flicked on by van Dijk which takes the ball away from Jota at the back post.

  • Liverpool 1-0 Rangers

    25. Nunez has started peeling off out wide, looking for the ball.

As soon as he does, Salah slots inside to the space he leaves.

Liverpool are struggling to find that killer-pass at the moment.

  • Liverpool 1-0 Rangers

    23. Rangers will be happy that after the early goal, they have managed to keep Klopp's side at bay since then.

They were in danger of sinking without a trace.

Liverpool are recycling the ball well.

  • Liverpool 1-0 Rangers

    21. Rangers' gameplan seems to be to run the clock down when in possession.

That would work well if you were the team in the lead.

Liverpool are stretching the visitors' defence every time they come forward.
