Meghan Markle news – Queen was left ‘devastated and disappointed’ by Prince Harry and Meg’s ‘insensitive’ behaviour

QUEEN Elizabeth felt "devastated, bewildered and disappointed" by Prince Harry and Meghan's behaviour, according to royal insiders.

The claims came after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex appeared in a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey last year, while Prince Philip was in hospital.

At the time of the couples TV appearance, the Queen herself was also suffering from health issues and was on ''borrowed time''.

A royal insider, quoted in Gyles Brandreth's biography of Elizabeth II, said: "The late Queen not only knew the Duke’s health was failing but also her own.

''It became clear that she was on borrowed time as she began to tie up loose ends. That’s what made the Sussexes’ behaviour doubly difficult to deal with. The timing could not have been more insensitive."

  • Prince Harry dons iconic Spider-man suit as he wishes children who have lost their parents a merry Christmas

As part of a campaign for Scotty’s Little Soldiers, a charity that helps children who lost parents in the armed forces, Prince Harry put on the iconic spider-man costume and cowl as he wished them a happy Christmas.

Donning the iconic red and blue costume, he said: “Christmas is a time where we miss our loved ones really, really badly, and that’s okay, but at the same time it can be possible to feel guilty for having fun without our parents.

“But I’m here to assure you that our parents always want us to have fun, so don’t feel guilty.

“You’re allowed to have the best time ever, especially with the Scotty’s Little Soldiers community.”

He finished by saying: “So go out there, have the best time and Merry Christmas.”

  • Frank Skinner had backstage bust-up with Sophie Wessex

Sophie Wessex had a backstage bust-up with Frank Skinner after watching him sing Three Lions at last week’s Royal Variety Performance.

The comedian sang the England football anthem with David Baddiel in front of an audience including Prince Edward and his wife at the Royal Albert Hall, in a show set to be aired on December 20.

He revealed that afterwards the royal pair told him he was not very good.

Frank, who had battled through feeling unwell to sing, said: “She comes up and says, ‘Don’t give up your day job’.

“I said ‘Pardon?’. She said ‘I could tell it’s not what you do. You’re not used to a live crowd’.

“I said ‘Well, I’ve done some live stuff’. She said ‘Nothing the size of this’.

“I said ‘Look, I did the Palladium last Sunday’.

“She looked at me like ‘you’re not supposed to be arguing, you’re supposed to just nod’.”

  • Will Princess Charlotte become the Duchess of Edinburgh?

Prince Edward has been waiting since his father Prince Philip‘s death to be titled Duke of Edinburgh, however, the day might never come.

The Mail on Sunday revealed that the King wants to give the title to Princess Charlotte, who’s third in line to the throne.

Sources told the newspaper: “Discussions are under way, but the favoured outcome for the King is that this title ought to go to Princess Charlotte.

“It would be a fitting way to remember the Queen – who, of course, had the title Duchess of Edinburgh – and a way for His Majesty to honour the line of succession.”

  • Picture of Harry and Meghan used in Netflix doc being hounded by press was taken years ago

A photograph used by Netflix to show Harry and Meghan being hounded by the press was actually taken at a Harry Potter premiere years before the couple met.

A trailer for the couple’s upcoming documentary showed rows of photographers fighting for the best snap at an event in July 2011.

However, the couple did not meet until in 2016 - almost five years later.

The image — which includes a snap of The Sun photographer Doug Seeburg — is used in the Netflix trailer before Prince Harry says in a voice-over: “I had to do everything I could to protect my family.”

But the couple did not meet until some five years later, in 2016.

Royal expert Ingrid Seward told The Sun: “I don’t imagine Harry would have realised, but Netflix have been careless here as it weakens Harry’s comment about protecting his family. This fake picture weakens his point.”

Fans rushed to social media to defend the pair after this accusation, with one writing: “Comparing Harry and Meghan to the Kardashian’s isn’t the diss they think it is because the Kardashians are still relevant.”
