The picturesque English village is idyllic with only 150 people living in it, but there are problems with living there.
Five miles north of Berry is the small village of picture leaflets, Afetside. Afetside is a quiet village dotted with quaint cottages on one long country road.
The village offers stunning walks and rolling green hill views, but is relatively isolated. The only local amenity is the Pack Horse Pub.
"The best part is the people who live here," says Diane Murphy. "Because it's a small village, we all know each other. We have events all year round and we all do little by little.
The afet side is very picturesque and looks like a postcard (
We are all working together and there are some really great events to raise money. ”
But 57 years old The woman toldManchester Evening Newsthat living in a remote village has one drawback: infrastructure.
Diane claims that residents regularly experience power outages and water losses.
All the inhabitants know each other(
"We turn off the water on a regular basis, and when the electricity goes out, the water pump stops, so we run out of water on a regular basis." She added. "I've lived here for eight years and it's gone many times. Last week was the latest.
" It was serious last year. There was no electricity in the village and the generator exploded.
"We had no electricity for days and it took a long time to fix. There are infrastructure challenges. Also, the internet and phone signals are poor.

Tony and Rosanne Davis have lived in Afetside for 21 years and can't live anywhere else. I'm saying no. Couples love this area very much. Call their cottage a "holiday home".
“People are really kind,” says 81-year-old Rosanne.
"We are always indebted, so many people are grateful for coming. We are all proud of it. We love it.
Village Resident DianneMurphy (
"Traffic can get worse at certain times of the day. It's not that bad now, but 20mph during school hours when people work. Don't stick to.
"It's unique and one of the big advantages is that it's away from the mayhem, but you can take advantage of it when you want to shop. We use it. We call it our holiday home. "
David Bailey has lived in Afetside for 20 years.
"It's not just a beautiful village, it's a community," he says.
"We all work together, everyone rides. Get the green and hold events such as BBQ.

"The green requires a lot of maintenance, so we all try to tinker with the marquee to raise money for the village. That's me. It's in our interest. It's a unique place to live with stunning views, but we'll move here. Now it's not picturesque and it's because of the community, but it's hard because it's a few degrees cold in winter.
"I've lived here for 20 years. If anyone is there, everyone is helping each other in the village. I need help, as I did with Covid.
"In this era, we rarely find the spirit of such a community. That's a special reason."
