Prince Harry news — Duke of Sussex’s visa to be challenged in US court after his bombshell drug revelations

THE US Government will appear in court next week over Prince Harry’s visa application after the Duke's shocking drug revelations.

An appeal from a conservative think tank will be made to unseal Prince Harry's US immigration records following revelations in his memoir that he took drugs.

In a tweet posted yesterday Nile Gardner, of the Heritage Foundation, said a hearing on his organisation's suit would be heard on June 6.

He said "Prince Harry immigration records case will be held in Washington, DC Federal Court in front of a US Federal Judge".

The Duke of Sussex previously revealed he had experimented with cocainemarijuanamagic mushrooms and ayahuasca - all of which are tightly controlled or banned in the US.

  • Why do the Royal Family attend the Trooping of the Colour?

The appearance of the Royal family on the Palace balcony has become an anticipated event in the royal calendar.

The first recorded royal balcony appearance was made by Queen Victoria in 1851, during the opening celebrations of the Great Exhibition.

And it's since become an established tradition and a rare opportunity to see the Royal Family together in one place.

In previous years, invitees included descendants of the monarch, her sister and cousins, as well as their spouses.

For the Queen's 90th birthday, over 40 family members were present.

The next Trooping of the Colour will take place on June 17 and will be the King's first as monarch.

  • What is Trooping the Colour?

Trooping the Colour is an annual event that dates back to Charles II in the 17th century when regiment colours trooped in front of soldiers so they could recognise their unit in battle.

The Queen took the salute almost every year since her coronation in 1953 but this year King Charles will take it.

The only exception to this was in 1955 when it was cancelled due to a national rail strike.

At the start of it, the monarch is greeted by a Royal salute and the National Anthem.

The parade then commences and concludes with a second Royal salute.

The monarch and other members of the Royal Family gather on the balcony at Buckingham Palace to watch a fly-past by the Royal Air Force.

  • Where are the Crown Jewels kept?

Even though the jewels are owned by the Monarch, they are not kept at Buckingham Palace or any other Royal residence.

Instead, the Crown Jewels are kept safe and sound at the Tower of London and you can even visit them.

Protected by armed guards, the Jewel House stores and displays the collection between June and September each year.

Historically, the Crown Jewels have not always been so heavily guarded.

During World War II, George VI ordered the priceless gems to be hidden in the grounds of Windsor Castle.
