To be honest, I was a little shocked. It doesn't come as a shock to learn what the Conservative Party has done in government. What struck me was the audacity of his Sunak to boast of it publicly.

In the Labor Party, you get into politics to help people. That is the reason why I became an MP.
A government's top priority is the protection and welfare of its citizens, and a fundamental principle of governance is to direct funds where they are most needed. This often includes, but not exclusively, inner city areas.
However, it has become clear over the years that the Tories have very different motives with respect to power and politics. caring for spouses and amassing wealth for the already wealthy 1%.
Snak couldn't be more specific about this when he removed his mask.
Let me be very clear. I heard it firsthand from someone who has been running the economy for the past two and a half years. Corrupt Tories should never be trusted again.
Some may not remember what a Labor government or a Labor government would do, but if you live in an area lacking investment and quality services , knows exactly whose fault it is.
The fact that he seemingly prides himself on channeling taxpayer money away from those who need it most into wealthy Tory neighborhoods is a shame. Not only is it the right thing to do, but in my view it fails the government's responsibility...the first duty.
The scary thing is that he wasn't bluffing to get votes. According to The Guardian's analysis, under Boris Johnson and Rishi Snak's 'level up' agenda, some of England's wealthiest areas, including those represented by government ministers, have 'more people than the poorest'. Ten times the money per person was allotted.
It is morally criminal.
I served in the last Labor government. Our record wasn't perfect, but it was the government's Labor Party who really tried to level up the country, and the Tories tried to block it.
By saying he wanted to undo Labor's funding schemes, Mr Sunak unwittingly reinforced their desire to destroy our progress and the need for great support across the country. and confirmed the hope for the prosperity of the community.
Also of concern is that Rishi Sunak must have felt very comfortable being around to say this outright. What does that say about Conservatives in fields like this? As far as I can tell from the video, there was no reproach or shock on people's faces. What other damage did he do that we haven't discovered yet?
Rishi Sunak has revealed a lot lately. He released a video proposing shredding all EU legislation (without mentioning what the legislation covers). EU legislation is often about fairness and quality of life. For example, the Working Hours Directive entitles a worker to a minimum annual leave and limits him to 48 hours per week.
He also attacked the equality laws that guarantee many of our vital rights. It protects us from discrimination against protected characteristics, such as equal pay for equal work, and provides a public sector equality mandate that obliges governments to “consider all individuals in the conduct of their day-to-day affairs.”
I wonder what he'll do next. And what will this government continue to do to destroy the standard of living of voters like me?
Whether it's Snak or Liz Truss, it's the same old-fashioned subversive Tories in power.
Liz Truss, who never resigned from the Boris Johnson administration, also made some shameful promises. was soon forced to make a U-turn.
So whoever wins is bad business as usual. The Conservative Party seeks to protect its rich and powerful friends, refuses to invest in the people and communities that need it most, and disenfranchises us at every opportunity.
This is why we need general elections now to protect our democracy.
The Tory leadership candidates will have to be held accountable for the countless promises they made in the campaign - promises that were not in the Conservative manifesto in the last election.
For that, the public deserves a say.
But the change we really need is not a change at the top of the corrupt Tories, but a Labor return to power.
