Compliments are paid for the young Lanarkshire companions who died tragically within a few days of each other

Two Lanarkshire allies tragically died within days and left town to mourn their sudden death.

Tributes have poured in for Scott Carrigan, 23, and his Ross McPherson, 22, as East his Kilbride family and friends remember them fondly.

Scott's heartbroken mother Alex Barney heads tribute to her "her one in a million" son, that he is an organ donor told us how proud he was of help others.

Alex told Lanarkshire Live. He's such a little hero.

"I am so proud of him. If something so tragic can have any good consequences, he has saved the lives of nine or ten people.

"It means a lot to us.

"Scott was the life and soul of the party. A very loving, kind, caring young man with a heart of gold, he loved everyone.

"Scott had a beautiful smile that cheered everyone up and was loved by so many. Unfortunately, he will remain in everyone's hearts forever."

Scott's sister Brooke Carrigan and sister-in-law Jane Barney launched a fundraiser after news of their brother's untimely death.

Already he has raised nearly £9,000, which is a great help in funeral expenses. However, his family wants to create mental health services for young people in the future in Scott's memory.

Alex explains:

"We are amazed and cannot thank everyone enough for what they have accomplished.

"Also, in the future, we would like to establish a foundation in Scott's name. Let's Talk Scott' see if we can design an app or something that will help boys their age who need help talk to someone at any time of the day.

“It is important as a family to promote this for mental health and to break down the stigma against young men. Will you please?"

Scott loved to play golf, spend time with friends, and walk the hills.

His beloved club, who is also a huge Rangers fan, sent his condolences to Scott with a member of the first team signing his jersey. The club donated his £1500 to Scott's gofundme page.

Just three days after Scott passed away, one of his best friends, Ross, sadly passed away on August 7th.

The 22-year-old, also from the Westwood area of ​​town, is remembered as a happy and caring young man.

His father Neil MacPherson in an interview with Lanarkshire Live wrote in tribute to Ross after his sudden death: You filled our lives with light and joy. But underneath it all remained a caring and loving boy.

Like Scott's, Ross' death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be forwarded to prosecutors.
