"Associated with the great family of football, the FHF wishes a happy Centenary to the Racing Club Haïtien (RCH), the second club in the country to have reached this age, the first to make the name of Haiti shine on the international scene, in winning the CONCACAF of champion clubs in 1963. Tribute and Honor to the leaders, players and supporters, all generations combined, of this centenary club which has contributed to the international influence of Haitian football. Happy centenary to the Lion King !» A solemn mass retracing the history of the club was given on the occasion of this 100th anniversary, at the Cathedral of Perpetual Help in Delmas 75 in the presence of several former glories of national football and players of the yellow and blue club. Raymonde Rival, the Minister of Youth and Sports, applauded the immense work of supervising young people and promoting the values of sport carried out by the RCH. She praised the performances and the sacrifices of the generations of players and leaders who made the glory of the old Lion for a century (11 titles of the National Championship of the first division, 2 Championships of Haiti D2, when the RCH was relegated to D2 2007, one of the worst moments in its history), 3 Haiti Cups and a CONCACAF Champions Cup in 1963). Minister Rival wished that the current leaders could keep the torch lit because another century of performance and exploits awaits the Racing Club Haitien. Learn more about the RCH : According to the historian, Georges Michel, the creation of Racing dates back to May 4, 1907. The name Racing would have been inherited from a former French club that disappeared long before the attribution of the "Vieux Lion", nickname attributed to this fantastic football team, whose emblem is a lion. The Haitian Racing Club would not have known so many glories, without the performance of the Haitian football icons still alive like Guy Saint Vil, Mario Léandre, Wilner Nazaire, Gérald Romulus, Goebels Cadet, Ronald Marseille, Wilfrid Montilas and many others and the late deceased René Vertus, Antoine Tassy, Joseph Obas, Lenz Domingue, Arsène Auguste, Fritz Léandre to name but a few.
