The Embassy of Spain in Haiti remains closed to the public, a measure that the Embassy of Mexico which warns "Faced with possible situations of violence in the country, we suggest avoiding non-essential travel, avoiding concentrations of people and being careful of those around you." The Embassy of France informs "The Embassy will not welcome the public this Friday, January 27 and the consular appointments are postponed" urging its citizens to limit travel and be more vigilant. "The Prime Minister of the Bahamas has ordered an immediate involuntary departure from Haiti of all diplomatic personnel or as soon as security conditions permit. Up to this time, there was a voluntary departure order in place and all staff at the embassy chose to stay. Per the new instructions, they are to leave for home as soon as conditions permit. This is only a temporary measure in light of recent developments [...] [...] The security situation appears less stable over the past three days in the country, and we are taking steps out of an abundance of caution [...] As soon as conditions permit a team will be seat back into Haiti without further announcement." For its part, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a Note to accredited diplomatic and consular missions, on behalf of the Government of Haiti, "[...] expresses its deep regrets for the serious incidents that occurred during the day of January 26, 2023 [...] The Government is aware of its obligations and responsibilities to ensure the protection of members of the diplomatic corps as subscribed, within the framework of the Vienna Convention. The Government condemns these serious incidents and renews to the diplomatic and consular missions, its willingness to continue working for the restoration of a safe, stable and reassuring environment, while taking the necessary measures."
