The PG2023 National Hosting Authority (NHA) with the support from the government will enter into a partnership agreement with Honiara City Council (HCC) to support clean-up programs within respective wards within Honiara City from now till the games.
This is part of the Safe and Green Games which was launched Friday March 3, 2023.
As part of this partnership NHA will also support HCC in efforts to manage the Ranadi Rubbish dumpsite.
A similar partnership is also being considered for Guadalcanal Province for the area between KGVI school and Honiara International Airport.
Meanwhile, NHA and GSIC are in discussion with private sector organizations to support the Keep Honiara Clean Campaign.
The Safe and Green Games campaign also provides a platform for the National Government, the HCC, Guadalcanal Province, Private Sector, Churches, schools, CSO, Community groups and individual households to unite as one team for one common purpose and that is to make Honiara safe and clean.
The clean-up campaign will run from now until November 2023.
