As the holiday weekend approaches, millions of people across the country will be in a festive preparation mode, such as grilling with friends and family and, of course,fireworks launch..
However, fireworks may not be a fun experience that others might imagine.

Brooks says about fireworks, even if it's a simple reaction, "I'm not a fan of fireworks." Fireworks will probably raise a voice if mentioned.
According to Brooks, not everyone is the same.
And there are many veterans, including himself, who enjoy the fireworks on July 4th.

Fox News Digital also spoke with New York psychologist, trauma and resilience expert Dr. Leo Flanagan on how veterans prepare for their next vacation.

Flanagan is a comfortable distance from the fireworks celebration Recommended to keep.
"Don't sit in the front row, especially in the crowd," he said.
"If you feel uncomfortable, look at the distance and location you can move further."

He also suggested using careful breathing, especially on days leading up to holidays. Controlled breathing for 20 minutes several times a day helps with PTSD.
