At least 31 people injured in a shooting at Highland Park were transferred to a local hospital

NorthShore University Health System spokesman Jim Anthony said at least 26 people were transferred to NorthShore Highland Park Hospital.

The other five were transferred to North Shore Evanston Hospital, a Level 1 trauma facility.

The two facilities are 30 minutes or 12 miles apart.

According to Anthony, at least 20 additional doctors were brought to the Highland Park facility in a short time to respond to the shooting.

According to Jim Anthony, a spokesman for the North Shore University Health System, the "majority" of the victims suffered gunshot wounds. 

There were some injuries caused by the post-shooting confusion.
