The longtime college basketball voice does not have cancer.
Dick Vitale announced on Twitter Wednesday that the lymphoma he discovered in October had gone out of remission after his doctor underwent surgery to remove the melanoma from him in August.
"Dr. Rick Brown just sent me the results of my major pet scan & and has some news I want all cancer patients to hear." Vitale tweeted. "He said, 'Dick, gone from remission to cancer-free'!" Thank you to everyone who sent [prayers].
The 83-year-old ESPN announcer said in April I rang a bell at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Florida to receive my sixth and final round of chemotherapy.
