In honor of Black History Month, Disney+ is expanding their Celebrate Black Stories collection and introducing a separate Black History collection.
The streamer writes that the new set of shows and movies will “dig deeper into the powerful history of Black artists, athletes, and creators across film, music, culture,” while the Celebrate Black Stories selection will “remain a joyful consolidation of the best of black talent.”
New additions to the streaming giant this month include Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and the accompanying documentary special, Assembled: The Making of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The Marvel movie makes its debut on the platform on Feb. 1 after premiering in theaters in the United States on Nov. 11 and the behind-the-scenes documentary will premiere on Feb. 8.
Also new to Disney+ is the second season of The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder, which releases all episodes on Feb. 1. The first season of the rebooted animated series was well-received with Decider’s Joel Keller writing in his review: “Even if you didn’t see The Proud Family the first time around, you’ll enjoy The Proud Family: Louder And Prouder. It’s a funny family sitcom with well-drawn (and written!) characters.”
