As of the end of yesterday’s game against Iran, it’s official: Team USA is moving on to the Round of 16 in FIFA’s 2022 Qatar World Cup.
It’s been a few years since Americans have had a chance to root for the USMNT in the Knockout Round of the World Cup. The last time they made it past the group stage was in Brazil in 2014 (where they were immediately knocked out by Belgium but who’s counting?).
