If you’re known for throwing out bagged salad from the back of the crisper and half-empty cartons of milk pushed to the sides of the fridge, this article is for you.
We’re not here to shame you either, as no one has a Kardashian-approved fridge either, as far as we know.
However, it may be wise to spend a minute with us, learning how to organize your fridge to help cut down on food waste and also minimize indecision when looking for what to snack on.
Since our fridge isn’t much better than most, we called in the experts to give us some tips and tricks for what organization system works the best and how to easily implement storage hacks into our everyday lives.
That expert just so happens to have organized many celebrities’ homes, including cast members of “Selling Sunset” Chrishell Stause, Amanza Smith, Maya Vander and Mary Fitzgerald as well as other stars like Heidi Montag, Kathy Hilton, Whitney Port and many more.
Eryn Donaldson, professional organizer and founder of The Model Home gave us some tips, too, making it easier than ever to have a celebrity-style fridge on your own.
The first thing Donaldson told us to do may be obvious to some but makes all the difference when preparing to organize.
“Declutter,” she told the Post. “Check expiration dates, see if there’s any food items that you do not want or like. Sometimes we try a different item and end up not liking it but end up leaving it in the fridge forever!”
After a nice deep clean, it’s time to get into the storage solutions. Donaldson gave us her list, all available to purchase on Amazon or other sites like W&P. Read on for her recommendations and then get decluttering, starting one shelf at a time until your fridge is sparkling. Then why not move on to the freezer, too?

“These stackable bin organizers are great because they are clear which means you can see exactly what you have and they are stackable which maximizes the storage space in your fridge,” said Donaldson.

This was the professional’s pick when it comes to cans, allowing them to roll down one by one when removed, so you always have a fresh can at the front.
3. Porter 8-Piece Fridge Bundle, $135, original price: $175
“The fridge bundle is great because it has a little of everything when it comes to the perfect storage for leftovers. They’re also sustainable,” added Donaldson.

Speaking of mix and matching, these were also another top pick from Donaldson, matching the above set from W&P.
“[These] bags are sturdy, sustainable and a great way to store items in your fridge. They’re also convenient for grab-and-go pre-portioned snacks,” she said.

Not only are jars aesthetically pleasing to look at, but they also come highly recommended for preventing food waste.
“Air-tight mason jars are a great option if you’d prefer to keep your veggies in something that is not plastic. They also keep fruit and veggies fresh for a longer time,” she said.
If you make a mess, no need to fear a sticky situation again.
“Washable mats are great for spills. It makes clean up so much easier if you line your fridge with these mats,” Donaldson shared.
7. Glass Food Storage Containers with Bamboo Lids, $39, original price: $45
Like the jars above, Donaldson recommends glass as a great way to preserve fresh foods.
“Air-tight glass storage containers are great if you would prefer to not use plastic,” she added. Plus, they stack!
