Ted Cruz accuses Randy Weingarten of claiming conservatives are trying to 'undermine' teachers: 'toxic'

Las Vegas, Nevada. -Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz urged Randy Weingarten and the teachers union at large to speak out inchildren's education and their role in school closures during the COVID-19 pandemic. condemned their attitude towards becoming parents.

That same weekend, Weingarten was reelected to his eighth term as president of the National Federation of Teachers, accusing conservatives of trying to "undermine" educators across the country.

"Randy Weingarten was one of the most toxic voices against children and against school choices everywhere," Cruz told Club for Growth School on Wednesday. Speaking to Fox News Digital on Freedom Forum.

Cruz said the country's two largest teachers' unions, the AFT and the National Education Association, were in contact with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. highlighted one of last year's infamous incidents that turned out to be Ahead of the release of new school reopening guidance. The email showed the union he is providing suggestions to the CDC for guidance on reopening in-person classrooms. The CDC appeared to use the union's proposal word for word in multiple instances of the final text of the CDC document.

"Randy Weingarten is currently receiving an email urging the Biden administration to 'shut down the schools. ', said Cruz. “And the Biden administration is very happy to dress up partisan, left-wing issues as what they think of as health care. We are happy to reflect.”

The AFT defended the communication, saying it was routine and worked closely with the Trump administration.

“The AFT represents the 1.7 million educators, health professionals and civil servants who have spent the past 14 months on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic. has been in regular contact with agency settings, including the CDC, and policies that affect their work and lives,” said AFT spokeswoman Oriana Korin.

"Randy Weingarten has probably become one of the most notorious figures of the last few years," former Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt, R. told Fox News Digital. Cruz agreed. "She got arrested for emails, went to the White House and the CDC, tried to change science, tried to keep our kids locked up. It's not allowed. She can decide who will be in charge of the union, but she is a terrible face for teachers, teachers who want to go back to school and want to teach their children.

The Republican nominee for the Nevada Senate is challenging Nevada Democratic Senator Catherine Cortez Mast.

Parents and other participants in the school choice conference are the teachers' union. Agreeing with politicians' assessment of the boss.

"They have an agenda," said Stephanie, a Las Vegas native, of the teachers' union. "And that's clearly not the case. You can see how all the Republicans and conservatives are fighting for their kids. And they defend it and they get that opportunity.

"That's wrong," said Helen F. Osegera, a prospective assessor for Clark County. Are you oppressed by not being able to teach?" They need to be taught because they are governed by a progressive curriculum.

Cruz, however, believes Weingarten helped hand the Virginia gubernatorial race to Republican Glenn Youngkin.

"In Virginia, Randy Weingarten went and campaigned for the Democratic Party, countering that parents shouldn't have to say what they were taught to their children.

Chris Wilson, a pollster who worked on Jonkin's campaign, agreed and Weingarten voted for Democrat Terry. I even wondered if my support for McAuliffe should have been considered an "in-kind contribution."

"Focusing on education, she urged every voter in Virginia, every parent in Virginia to keep their children out of school and to [critical racial theory] It really gave me an opportunity to focus on what was wrong with McAuliffe and his … educational stance in Northern Virginia,” Wilson said of Club for

Cruz said last weekend's "rama vote" also proved the power the teachers' union had in the debate about reopening schools. One of the amendments he introduced concerned new vaccine mandates forpublic schools in Washington, D.C. DC students over the age of 12 must be vaccinated to attend school this school year. Cruz noted that while 85% of students are vaccinated, the 15% who are not are basically told not to come to school.

Cruz Additionally, a percentage of 40 African-American students were not vaccinated.

"Washington, D.C. public schools have submitted an amendment that says they should not tell his 40% of African-American students that they will be kicking you out of school," he said. I was. "We won't send you to school."

The amendment won no Democratic votes, he said. It pointed out.

"So this weekend, all Democrats voted to kick his 40 percent of black students out of Washington, D.C. public schools," Cruz said. I was. ``Why? } CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP

Delay or repeal this important bill. For example, it would effectively eliminate the requirement that students be vaccinated against COVID-19 in public schools in Washington, D.C.," Peters said. “Vaccines have proven effective in preventing the spread of this deadly disease, and DC public schools now offer the same vaccines to eligible students as they do for measles, hepatitis A, and hepatitis B. To require an FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccine to allow D.C. public school students to be vaccinated against the virus was enacted by the City Council of the District of Columbia. Formally elected by the 700,000 Americans who live in Washington, D.C.. This motion unnecessarily interferes with the local Washington, D.C. government and may cause delays or delays as we attempt to pass it today. Please repeal this important bill that is in place.I urge my colleagues to vote against this bill.”

Weingarten and AFT did not respond to requests for comment.
