Former President Donald Trump said last week that federal agents issued a search warrant for his Mar-a-Lago estateafter he and his family witnessed a raid. We are considering releasing security footage of us enforcing, according to a new report.
CNN reported on Wednesday that some of the 45th president's aides were accused of stealing from his resort in Palm Beach, amid speculation swirling about exactly what the FBI stole from his resort. It reportedly advised the president to release the video.
Trump and his allies lashed out at the search - going so far as to suggest that FBI agents planted evidence during the investigation - and regarding the release of the footage. At least one person familiar with the conversation told CNN that it could be featured in a campaign-style ad highlighting Trump's allegations of being targeted by the Biden administration.
However, the network cites another source that the footage is being secured. By the former president's legal team, it raises questions about what Trump actually saw.
"I don't think it was shared by anyone other than a lawyer," a source told CNN.
Those close to the former president say the release of the footage could backfire by revealing how much classified material was seized from Mar-a-Lago..
