Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston are back on the case in Murder Mystery 2, coming to Netflix this weekend. Critics may not have loved the 2019 action comedy Murder Mystery, but it remains one of Netflix’s most popular original films—so it’s no wonder the streaming service ordered up a sequel.
Written by James Vanderbilt, who also wrote the first film, and directed by Jeremy Garelick, Murder Mystery 2 stars Sandler and Aniston as Nick and Audrey Spitz, a married couple trying to maintain an amateur private detective business. After successfully solving the case and saving the life of Maharajah Vikram (played by Adeel Akhtar), the Spitz’s land an invite to the Maharajah’s lavish wedding. But the festivities are put on hold when the Maharajah is kidnapped for ransom. The list of suspects inlcude his bride, family, and friends, and the Spitz’s, despite their incompetence, resolve to solve the case.
