Jackie Lambie ‘demands a pound of flesh’: Bishop

Former Speaker of the House Bronwyn Bishop told Sky News Host Paul Murray Senator Jackie Lambie knows the Coalition need her vote and is taking the opportunity to demand a “pound of flesh”. Independent Senator Lambie said if the Coalition “can’t show integrity” by handing over the document in relation to the sports rorts scandal, then she will not be “voting for an Ensuring Integrity bill”. Fellow panelist and Former Victorian Liberal Party President Michael Kroger said the sports rorts debacle and the ensuring integrity bill were “two completely separate issues”. The former referred to the “legal administration of a fund where no illegality was found” while the latter referred to a bill “designed to give the court power to cancel the registration of a rogue union that defies court orders”. Ms Bishop said Ms Lambie “is using this as cover” and “there’s got to be some other reason she doesn’t want to vote for the bill". Image: News Corp Australia
