Teen’s body found in swimming hole

The body of a missing teenager, who jumped from a ledge into a swimming hole in NSW, has been found after a major search.

Five ambulance crews and a helicopter were called to Mermaids Pools in Tahmoor, in the state’s Macarthur Region, about 1.30pm after reports a male swimmer jumped off a rock into the water but did not resurface.

NSW Police and Fire and Rescue NSW also attended.

At about 6.15pm, the body of the 17-year-old boy was found submerged in the water.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
