IUT’s Circuit Brokers wins Grameenphone’s Skitto Hackathon

A team of the students of the Islamic University of Technology (IUT) called "Circuit Brokers" secured the champion's trophy at the Grameenphone's 'Skitto Hackathon'.

The mobile network operator announced the names of the champion and runners-up teams of the competition at an event at GP House in Dhaka today.

The team "End Game" of the IUT and "Inmates" from Dhaka University won the first and second runners-up positions respectively.

The champion team won a prize money of Tk 1 lakh while the first and second runner-up teams received cheques worth Tk 50,000 Tk 25,000 respectively, according to a statement.

"We had an open-ended case to solve, which gave us the scope to brainstorm and explore creative ideas with full freedom," said Anika Rahnuma, a member of the champion team.

"We thoroughly enjoyed the Skitto Hackathon, and we hope that such contests will also be organised in the coming years. Thanks to Skitto and Grameenphone for the amazing experience."

Skitto is a youth-centric product of the Grameenphone.

Sajjad Hasib, chief marketing officer of Grameenphone, was present at the event.
