A Bangladesh Mohila Awami League activist died after she fell sick in Dhaka's Shahbagh area while on her way home from the organisation's council, held at the Suhrawardy Udyan this afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Komla Begum, 60, an activist of Gazipur's Pubail thana unit of Mahila AL.

Sondha Begum, a co-activist of the unit, said they arrived around 9:00am in Dhaka from Gazipur and took part in the sixth triennial council.
Komla Begum fell sick as we walked to the Shahbagh area to catch a Gazipur-bound bus. She was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared her dead, said Sondha.
The deceased's body was sent to the hospital morgue, said Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH Police Outpost.
