Two minor cousins drowned in a pond in Kurigram's Rajibpur upazila this evening.
The deceased were identified as Arafat Islam, 12, son of Saifuddin of Roumari upazila and Ridon Islam, 3, son of Jahidul Islam of Rajibpur upazila, reports our Lalmonirhat correspondent quoting Mozaharul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Rajibpur Police Station.

The incident took place at Baraidanggi area of Rajibpur union this evening, the OC said.
Quoting family members and locals, police said the two children paid a visit to their maternal grandfather's house in Baraidanggi area and went for fishing in the pond, next to the house, in the afternoon.
"All on a sudden, they fell into the pond and drowned. After a long search, family members recovered their bodies and took them to Rajibpur Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared the duo dead," said the OC.
