Police impersonators rob men of their suitcases, wallets and phones

Police said two men on their way to the airport on Saturday morning were robbed by men dressed as police officers.

The victims were driving after 6 a.m. when they were stopped by a gray car that had blue and white flashing lights, police said.

Two men exited the car, dressed like police officers, equipped with flashlights and shotguns, police said.

The men robbed the victims of their phones, suitcases and wallets, then fled south on Gladstone Road, police said.

Anyone with information on this matter is asked to contact police.

“Police also want to remind the public that all police cars are equipped with a siren and blue and red lights, and that altering the color of a vehicle’s lights is punishable by law,” police said.
