Belize Represented at Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean

By BBN Staff: Director of the Women and Family Support Department in the Ministry of Human Development, Anna Williams is representing Belize at the Caribbean preparatory meeting of the XIV session of the Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean.

 The conference, organized by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), is taking place in Trinidad and Tobago.

The purpose of the conference is to discuss progress made, and challenges faced in the implementation of the Montevideo Strategy in synergy with the Beijing+25 review.

 The conference will also identify new priority areas that need to be addressed to strengthen women’s autonomy in changing economic scenarios in the Caribbean.
