To all cricket enthusiasts, a pleasant time of day to you! Under the auspices of the Belize National Cricket Association, the Barry Bowen / Harrison Parks Cricket Competition 2023 heads to the end of the season. The results of last weekend’s matches are as follows, in no particular order:

St. Paul’s Strikers defeated Long Journey, 107 to 111 with 4 spare wickets. For St. Paul’s Strikers, Tyler and Lloyd Cassasola scored 24 and 22, respectively; while Brian Cassasola took 4 wickets. For Long Journey, Geovanni Casimiro scored 60. Brian Cassasola was named Man of the Match.

Tropical Disturbance walked over Brave 11 Reloaded, 61 to 65 with 4 spare wickets. For Brave 11, Joseph Pook scored 17, and Dirk Sutherland took 3 wickets. For Tropical Disturbance, Herbert Banner scored 14, along with Howell Gillett who scored 10 and took 5 wickets; he was also named Man of the Match.

BDF continues to demand respect by defeating Western Eagles, 194 to 61. For Western Eagles, Rudolph Ferguson took 6 wickets. For BDF, Jevan and Jervis Wade scored 35 each.

The match featuring Rising Star vs Progressive, no results were provided, sad to say.

Last, but not the least, Golden Eagles had a field day with Weekend Warriors by beating them, 258 to 85. In this match, Jermaine Pook scored 108 and was very excited about the score. Norman Pook of the Golden boys took 6 wickets. For Weekend Warriors, Egbert and Leonel Robinson scored 33 and 27, respectively.

The following teams are in the top spot for playoffs.  In LEVEL 1 POINTS: BDF – 46 pts; WICKED 11 – 44 pts; SUMMA FEVA – 40 pts; SURPRISE – 34 pts. LEVEL 2 POINTS: ST. PAUL’S STRIKERS – 46 pts; TROPICAL DISTURBANCE – 46 pts; BRAVE 11 RELOADED – 40 pts; BRAVE UNION BOYS – 34 pts; GOLDEN EAGLES – 28 pts.

The following matches are scheduled for the weekend if all goes well:

On Saturday – Summa Feva vs Western Eagles at Rancho; Wicked 11 vs Sunrise at Lords Bank; Excellence vs Surprise at Lemonal; St. Paul’s Strikers vs Brave Union Boys at Boom; and Brave 11 Reloaded vs  Rising Star at Sandhill.

On Sunday – Weekend Warriors vs Tropical Disturbance at Biscayne.
