Shooting outside Sacramento's nightclub kills one and injures four

Sacramento, CA — One Police said downtown Sacramento A man was killed and four were injured in a shooting outside a nightclub.

Police chief Kathy Lester said authorities were called for ammunition fired just before 2 am on Monday after the club released patrons. I told Bee.

The injured man was taken to the hospital and reported to be in stable condition, police said. According to police, the dead man was identified by the coroner's office as Gregory Grimes.

Authorities released little information about the shooting and asked witnesses to provide additional information and provide possible video evidence. Police did not immediately identify the suspect.

"What we know now is very limited," Leicester said.

Grimes was a former soccer star at Indarkum High School and Boise State University. He returned to high school coaching after graduating from college and started a dispatching company last year, Bee reported.

Her mother, Deborah Grimes, told the newspaper that her son had been killed away from a mixed nightclub. She doesn't think he was targeted.

"He has never been to the streets and has no such background," she said, looking forward to celebrating the July 4th holiday with her 4-year-old son. She added. "You would never expect a person like him to be killed. He doesn't fit the troublemaker's profile, etc."

She added: "This is I can't explain how devastating it is now. "

This year was the second shooting in downtown Sacramento. Six people were killed and 12 were injured in a shooting between rival gangs in April.

The shooting fired 100 ammunition when people left bars and nightclubs in downtown just a few blocks from the Capitol.

Bee recently reported that three men were arrested and charged with three murders for the deaths of three bystanders. Police have not been charged with the deaths of three other victims who said they were involved in the conflict.

With a population of 500,000, Sacramento has endeavored to revitalize downtown, but the area is rattling due to increased crime.
