Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming (AP) — A second time in three days, a visitor to Yellowstone National Park was attacked by a bison, park officials said Thursday.

A 71-year-old woman from West Chester, Pennsylvania, and her daughter inadvertently approached Bison on Wednesday while returning to the car on the trailhead of Lake Yellowstone.

According to park officials, the woman's injury was not life-threatening. She was taken by ambulance to West Park Hospital in Cody, Wyoming.

The incident was under investigation and park officials did not provide detailed information about the encounter.

On Monday, a 34-year-old man in Colorado Springs, Colorado, grabbed a child fleeing a beast and was too close to a bison near a giant geyser. They both got up and ran away.

On May 30, after a woman in Grove City, Ohio, invaded within 10 feet (3 meters) of Bison, Bison was tossed and stabbed and injured.

Bisons are wild and unpredictable, and visitors are required to be more than 25 yards (23 meters) away from them, park officials said.
