Bogotá, Colombia (AP) — During a bullfighting in central Colombia on Sunday, part of a wooden stand collapsed, spectators plunged into the ground, at least four were killed and about 30 were seriously injured. The authorities said they had suffered.

The disaster occurred at a stadium in the city of El Espinal, Trima, during a traditional event called "Korareha" where the general public entered the ring to engage the Bulls.

A video taken during the bullfighting shows that the three-story section of the stand collapses when people shout.

"We have activated Trima's hospital network," Trima Governor Jose Ricardo Orosco told local Blue Radio. "At this point, four women, two men and two minors, have died."

Authorities said about 30 people were seriously injured

Orosco said At the beginning of Sunday, he said he requested that the traditional "Korareha" be stopped in Trima, but this was held anyway.

President-elect Gustavo Petro pointed out that this was not the first time such an incident had occurred and urged local authorities to ban such incidents.

"I ask the mayor not to allow any further events, including the death of humans or animals," he said.

Twitter's current president, Ivan Duque, has announced a disaster investigation.

"We mourn the horrific tragedy registered during the San Pedro and San Juan festivals at El Espinal in Trima. The stand collapsed during Coraleha. Call for investigation."
