A baby has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being struck in a hit-and-run along with two adult victims in Scarborough.

Just before 11 a.m. Toronto police tweeted that two pedestrians and a baby in a stroller were struck at the intersection at Pharmacy Avenue and Ellesmere Road.

Toronto paramedics say two women were taken to a trauma centre in serious condition. The baby was also taken to a trauma centre in life-threatening condition.

Police say the suspect vehicle fled south on Pharmacy Avenue. The vehicle is described as a grey Dodge Journey and the driver is described as a white male.

The intersection has been closed as police investigate.
